Heather Harmon is the Vice President of Corporate Human Resources and Organizational Development for University Hospitals located in Cleveland, Ohio. Within a health system of more than 25,000 employees, Heather is responsible for creating alignment of employee training, development and learning initiatives with the organization’s business strategies. This includes identifying and generating long-term career paths to strengthen employee engagement, further effective performance management strategies and prepare high-potential individuals for future leadership opportunities. Her work in these areas has included building organizational capabilities around effective change management and communication. Heather sits on the steering committee responsible for leading the redesign of UH’s current intranet and implementing a new digital workplace platform which has the power to enhance collaboration across UH’s growing, geographically dispersed workforce.
Heather began her career at University Hospitals in 2001 and has held a number of progressively responsible roles within the Human Resources division throughout her tenure. She is a graduate of Denison University and earned her law degree, with an emphasis in health care, at The University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Heather has been recognized as a YWCA Woman of Professional Excellence and sits on the Board of Directors for Stewart’s Caring Place, serving as Secretary for this small nonprofit organization that provides supportive services and programs for individuals and families on their cancer journey. Heather resides in northeastern Ohio with her husband and 11-year-old son.
